Head Units

Head Units

The head unit is the centrepiece of a vehicle sound system, typically located in the centre of the dashboard and is a great place to start any upgrade to your vehicle

A modern head unit will provide you with a number of advantages and additions over a vehicles original radio unit

There are many functions and technologies built into modern head units there is a list of these below

  • Add an AUX sound only input via the 3.5mm jack plug
  • Add a USB charger and music playback for smartphones and USB storage devices
  • Add Digital radio to your vehicle (DAB)
  • Add Bluetooth handsfree and wireless music streaming
  • Add touchscreen for playing DVD’s
  • Allow to add a reversing camera
  • Add built in navigation
  • Add Apple Car Play or Android Auto and sync your smartphone

It is possible to change the original radio head unit on most vehicles you might not think it is possible but we have over 600 vehicle facia solutions available to make sure the new head unit looks and fit like an original factory option with most of them in stock.

We can also integrate the cars original steering controls to work the new head-unit and often can maintain other original features such as being able to change the time and date on the cars display.

There are three main different types of new head-unit. All of them have FM radio and CD players as standard although you can now specify a unit without the CD player if you no longer use CD’s, these units are called meshless.
